Originally developed for the Dental and Jewelry industry, the Invision HR has an extremely high resolution layer slice. The HR material was designed to have less than 0.010% ash content, which make these parts ideal for creating prescious metal masters, as well as, for spin casting small metal parts.
The parts are printed in a Royal Blue acrylic and because the support material is wax, complex structures such as wireframes and assemblies can be easily printed. The wax, is simply melted out from the final part leaving the complex structures intact.
Although MJM is fairly limited due to the small buildable area, it can still be ideal for complex, wireframe models extremely small assemblies and features not typically printable in processes, such as FDM, SLA or SLS.
The only downside to the wax support structures is that occasionally, there may still be a small amount of wax residue attached to the parts (which can be scraped or melted off with a heat gun). An ideal alternate process for these extremely high-res small parts, is Polyjet.
Great resolution and smooth surfaces make it ideal for jewelry and dental masters, complex wireframe parts & small working assemblies.
High resolution text and fine feature details, such as walls as thin as .015"
Can be used as master patterns for urethane casting. Highly accurate small parts, excellent for medium quantities.
Wax support structures (which are melted from during post processing ) allow geometries to be produced which are impossible in some more expensive processes.
Excellent repeatability for DDM (Direct Digital Manufacturing) applications.
Typical Lead-times 2 to 3 days.
MJM HR models can be built up to: 5" x 7"x 2" (127mm x 178mm x 50mm).
It is not recommended to bond parts together due to the slight residual wax surface not adhering well to glues or epoxies.
MJM HR Print Resolution: X-Axis: 656 dpi, Y-Axis: 656, dpi Z-Axis: 800 dpi
MJM HR High Resolution Slice: 0.0006"
MJM SR Standard Layer Slice: 0.0011"
Accuracy: +/- .003" for first 1 inches, +/- .001" inch per inch thereafter.
Great part repeatability.
Smooth surface with no visible layer lines, Contour surfaces smooth when built in any direction. Great text, the price of the same SLA parts, finer details & smoother features for jewelry and small assemblies.

- MJM HR instead of Polyjet
- MJM HR instead of SLA
- MJM HR instead of Urethane Casted Parts
Can build extremely complex wireframe structures with nominal wall thicknesses that drop below .030" due to the support being melted off rather than, blasted with a high pressure waterjet.
Parts are smooth without any sanding or vapor honing. Very small MJM parts are often a fraction of the price of the same SLA parts, finer details & smoother features for jewelry and small assemblies.
MJM HR offers very fast multiples on smaller parts with intricate features, yet cost a fraction of the price per part.
Most MJM parts are shipped once the support material is removed. However, some additional services are available.
Painting; Most models can be primed, sanded and painted to match a color chip or specific Pantone color.
Shielding; Parts can be sprayed with an EMI shield or Static dissipative coating.
Due to the heat involved with any metal coating process, it is not recommended for MJM HR parts. The slight residual wax can cause problems with the substrate adhering to the parts.
